The King III Report on Corporate Governance indicates that corporate governance is grounded on an ethical foundation, and also sets guidelines on the management of ethics on organisations. The Ethics Officer Certification Programme (EOCP) has been developed to provide participants with skills-based knowledge to enable to fulfil their responsibilities as Ethics Officers.
EthicsSA is currently the only organisation certifying individuals as Ethics Officers in South Africa and in Africa.
Delegates have 90 days to successfully complete a practicum, which will test their skills in being able to apply the knowledge learnt during the 5-day programme. Competent delegates are then certified as Ethics Officers by EthicsSA, and allocated a unique Ethics Officer number for verification.
Certification is issued in partnership with the University of Stellenbosch Business School on level 6.
